CONTEXT: I took this at my parents' cottage, on Georgian Bay. It was one of those really fantastic storms that inspires belief in the supernatural. The wind had kicked up out of nowhere, making the trees bow in reverence and everything went monochrome; even the green grass was a shade of charcoal and there was this opening in the sky. I wondered if it were a funnel forming, but there weren't any other tornado signs to speak of. Photographically, it was the contrast and the monochrome that got me. I do love a good storm.
