Context: This was taken along the "Lover's Walk" between Riomaggiore and Manarola in the Cinque Terre, Italy. I think it is called the lover's walk because it is the smoothest, broadest (and only paved) hike between the five towns. On route, graffiti artists have painted the walls with a variety of designs. Other people have come afterward and added to those original paintings by coloring in mustaches or changing the color of eyes. One man was given a stubble beard with magic marker while his partner's lips were filled in red. On top of all of this, people leave their messages, graffiti over graffiti over graffiti. It's quite beautiful, really. This girl sitting at the edge of something blue, looking away in the coat with the green cuffs was one of my favorites.
