As we're often enjoying cocktails on the deck with family and friends who are visiting, Ali and I don't usually get out on the water at sunset. However, there are the odd evenings when it is just the two of us. The evening of this photo, we carried the canoe down to the beach for a paddle. Instantly the clouds sitting on the horizon split like the atom and the lake turned into gold. We're not wishing time away (not with how fast Miles is changing!), but only 30 weeks till we're back at the lake with our young son in tow.
