  1. I love the boats... and the colours... and the lovely geometry.

  2. One of the things I love about Santi's photo is the woman sitting behind the boat on the far left. The glimpse of her, hand on her head, mid-sentence or mid-thought really gives the photo an of-the-moment feel. There are these beautiful, colorful boats that look like a display, but there's also life being lived within and around it.
In Joc's shot, it's the geometry that gets me. The honeycomb hexagons and the rectangular planks of the dock and the seats in the boats, the pointed curves. Event the water-wind patterns seem geometrical. I also like how the whole thing is sort of framed by shadows with these really rich dark colors in the middle.
Great work, both of you! Cheers.

  3. I am actually fascinated to know why those boats are sitting on that cart. I presume they are being rented to float around on the body of water by couples in love. So, the engineer in me is trying to figure out how to get it back once you launch it...

  4. I didn't even notice the girl behind the boats. Thanks for pointing that out dp. I like how in the top picture, your eyes are pulled vertically along the masts of the boats, but in the bottom picture your eyes go horizontal along the boats. And beautiful colors!

  5. It's funny how I took the picture and I just saw the woman behind the boats, maybe she would have made a good photo subject.

  6. OK, apparently I need Damien to explain what I'm taking pictures of. I knew I like the look of those boats, but once I read D's comments, I thought: "Yeah! Hexagons! Geometry! That was buried in my mind somewhere!"
