In Stacey's photo I really like the contrast with the bright, polished metal vs. the old rusted one from the cart.
In Damien's photo I like the purity of the colors. When I take those types of shots, I'm not entirely pleased with the tones in the background. Good job!
CONTEXT: Barcelona from the highway at 80 km/hour, the storm clouds rolling in ten minutes after magic hour. Exposure is somewhere between 8 and 10 seconds, panning slightly to track the clouds, which you can still see, with a little imagination.
some days are full of rusty gurneys schlepping chairs after the crowd has long gone home, and other days are vivid lights going by a hundred miles an hour in the black of night. ali and i are going through the latter. i would have said that dp's photo looks like the stock market graphically, except it is moving consistently (much like Obama!)

I was getting frustrated with the pictures because they weren't turning out right (the lighting in the room wasn't very good) and so I stopped for a few minutes and then I saw the rusty cart with the lovely and shiny repetition of stacked chairs. It surely made up for the other crappy pictures of my project. :)
I love both of the pictures. It took me a second to realize Stacey's picture was not black and white. I agree with Santiago about the shiny metallic quality of the chairs.
Mr. Pitter, I kind of want to take your picture, blow it up and then use paint along certain lines, but not the whole picture... I'm not sure if it makes any sense when I try and describe it, but it looks really cool combining the bright colors of the photograph with some paint. Either way, I'd love it up on my wall.
I agree Jocelyn. I'd love to start a 14 lenses wall at my house. Maybe we need to start an e-commerce venture together and start selling prints. :) I LOVE looking at the archive page...all the colors in one place vying for my eyes' attention.

Stacey, you have such an eye for industrial beauty. These are the kind of photos I try to take but they never turn out the way I'm envisioning.

I would love prints of a number of these photos, & it's only 2 months in. We could build entire galleries.
